As the evenings draw in, coming in to the warm from the cold outside, getting cosy and really allowing your mind and body to fully relax is something I love to do and take seriously! I love to use a range of products that include calming ingredients and essential oils that I know will help me to relax and achieve the perfect nights sleep.
If I have a little longer in the evening I will run a nice hot bath to relax in, I tend to do this more on a weekend evening. Bathing helps to open pores and can relieve muscle pain by increasing circulation as well as encouraging feelings of comfort and of course pure relaxation. I love to use the Neom Organics Bedtime Hero Bath Foam fragranced with Chamomile, Ylang Ylang and Cedar-wood! With softening marshmallow and coconut oil, and soothing aloe and sweet almond oil leaves my skin feeling silky smooth.
Once I am out the bath I will use a few drops of a body oil into my body moisturiser. I tend to find my skin can get really dry in the colder months so this helps lock in the moisture. I will apply Elemis De-Stress Massage Oil infused with Rosewood, Rosemary, Chamomile essential oils followed by Elemis Skin Nourishing Body Cream. These two together helps nourish my skin, melt away tension and completely relax the mind.
Next is my skincare routine (which I needs a separate post) at the moment I am using the beautiful ELEMIS Rose Cleansing balm to take the day off and Pro-Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream rich in Laminaria Digitata and Red Algae to maintain optimum skin condition, whilst Padina Pavonica helps improve the appearance of skin suppleness.
Creating a relaxing environment by turning off any bright lights, light my favourite candles to create a beautiful calming ambient setting, turn the blue light off my phone, make myself a mug of chamomile tea before sinking into bed with a good book.
Our skin repairs and regenerates over night so it is important to make sure we are getting good quietly sleep and that our circadian rhythm is kept in sync.
